Suspected drug trafficker Said Ali arrested in Kilifi

Said Ali has been on police radar for being among the most active drug distributors who operate a network of peddlers within Kwale County.
Detectives in Mombasa on Tuesday arrested suspected drug trafficker Said Ali Gakuria at his house in Mtwapa's Jumba Ruins settlement area within Kilifi County.
The officers acting on an intelligence report raided Gakuria’s residence which he also uses as a stash house and a drug repackaging den before transferring the drugs ready for use in drug dens within Diani and Ukunda.

The security team also recovered approximately 300 grams of cream-whitish powder concealed in tightly insulated packaging that is suspected to be heroin worth Sh750,000 brought in from Tanzania.

The team also recovered three weighing scales and assorted packaging materials.
Said Ali Gakuria has been on police radar for being among the most active drug distributors who operate a network of peddlers in Diani, Ukunda and Tiwi areas within Kwale County.
The suspects were transferred and booked at the Central Police Station and will today be arraigned at the Mombasa Law Courts to be charged with possession of narcotic drugs.

The arrest follows similar and various operations being carried out by the police in the country to seize drugs and arrest perpetrators involved in the crime.
The police say the operation is yielding results that have seen a reduction in the distribution of narcotic drugs.
